Increase your vitamin C intake and apply a dab of Neosporin there each night before you go to bed.. Open your mouth wide, when you apply the Neosporin, as you want your lip to heal in such a way that opening your mouth doesn't break the seal. I have had those little cuts before, and they are hard to heal, since you open your mouth to talk and eat.
Also, since you have had it so long, you might go to the doc and get an antibiotic... the kind that is good for skin problems, like Erythromycin or Tetracyclene.
**EDIT** Oh yeah, and the Vaseline/chapstick during the day is a good idea, too. But I disagree with letting it heal with your mouth closed. Always open wide when applying the chapstick and Vaseline... you want to be able to open and close your mouth without "breaking" the healing process.

The problem is probably that you keep re-injuring the area because of it's location. It is so hard not to do that, especially once it swells. I am not a doctor, but here are my recommendations. First of all, I think that other guy was right about using mouthwash. It can help kill the bacteria. Secondly, if you are really serious about it, then maybe you should try only eating things that don't have to be chewed for a few days. Like broth, smoothies, etc. The point here is that you probably keep biting it and making it stay there. If you eat food that you don't have to chew, maybe your mouth will have time to heal. It should only take at most 2 or 3 days if you use this approach, as the mouth is the one place on the body that can heal itself practically overnight. Again, the problem is probably the re-biting of it, or it would already be gone by now. The mouth heals sooo fast! I wish you so much luck on this though. I know it can be horribly painful to have a sore in your mouth, especially a big one. Just be careful and you should be able to resolve it soon!

Wear moisturizing chapstick 24 hours a day, every day. You can try vaseline at night though. I mean, KEEP IT ON THERE every minute. Keep a stick of chapstick in your pocket every moment, put it on obsessively.
Also, keep your mouth shut as much as you can. Every time you open your mouth too wide ou will help it crack again. The dryer your lips are, the more they crack. The healing in chapstick will really help.
If it is more than just cracked, but actually puffy or ::eewww::: crusty, talk to the doc. You may need an antibiotic for there.

CHAPSTICK CHAPSTICK CHAPSTICK
i cant stress it enough. buy a econopack and use it every other second!!!! eventually (and by that i mean within a few days) the cut will heal and by coating it with chapstick, it will keep germs out not to mention keep your lips kissably smooth. cold sore medicines also work well. if those dont work, talk to your doctor or a local hospital about medical glue (completely safe) and dab a little on the cut. it helps the skin graft together. avoid opening your mouth too wide as it will crack the cut open more. good luck hun!!!\

I have the same problem! It's so annoying... It's when the corner of your mouth dries up, and you can't open your mouth to eat or yawn or anything... I put carmex on it... and I down it in carmex, it's a little yellow tube and not very expensive, you can get it at walgreens, cvs... anywhere along those lines. Also, try not to yawn so much, although I know it can be hard. When you go to sleep... it's very very helpful if you put carmex on it, it will heal a little over night.
Good luck!

its probably not a cut, but a cold sore
does it bleed?
if not but it is still a part where the skin has split then it is a cold-sore
There is really nothing other than some over the counter cold-sore stuff.
Cold sores are caused by a virus. So there is not really cures for it just treatments.
