When I hit the arrow buttons while I'm in Excel, Excel shifts the view of the screen rather than going over to a different cell and making it the active cell like I would want it to do. How do I resolve this?

hmmm, never had that happen myself. Check to make sure your scroll lock is off on the keyboard. That sometimes messes things up.

odds are you;ve clicked on the arrow buttons to move the screen a lot huh? click back on the cells for a while to move them and then try using the arrows. you may close and then re-open you excel spreadsheet and program. Mine does that sometimes too and that seems to work. Worst case senario, my it guys always tell me to turn off the computer and unplugg and replugg and restart and for some reson that works wonders!

Have you clicked on a cell? Sounds like you're scrolling pages rather than moving cells - if you select a cell it should let you move to another using arrow keys.

Hi. Try hitting 'Enter' and then select the cell you wanted the next info to go into. I think the program remembers this.

Make sure the worksheet is not protected (Tools>Protection). Sometimes the worksheet is protected so that you can only access certain cells.
