I have tried Botox and dont believe it works on me and I also have had Retalin injected (this was painful and left small bubbles at the injection point which I feel defeated the purpose). Has anyone had surgery which removed fine lines effectively? Im thinking dermabrasion? Any ideas? Thanks

Hi there,

Since you said fine lines... I think a non-surgical procedure is best for you (surgical techniques are invasive, painful and can be pretty traumatic, there is no reason to get through all that for some fine lines). Laser resurfacing, chemical peels, dermabrasion or microdermabrasion - these are some of the most popular non-surgical options available today. The least invasive, least expensive and most appropriate procedure for superficial lines is microdermabrasion. And you have two options here: you either do it at home with a special microderma kit, or you go to a spa, a beauty salon or a dermatology office and have a professional diamond-wand microderma (the regular micro crystal microderma is dangerous for the eye area because tiny crystals and debris might enter your eyes).
If you chose at-home kits, be sure to buy one gentle enough to be used around the eye area (most of the products specify that in their instruction booklet). Neutrogena, Susan Lucci, L'Oreal, Philosophy, Olay and Dermanew are the most popular brands on the at-home microderma kit market. I have tried most of them and they all have pros and cons. For fine lines, they all work pretty well. But then again, so does professional microderma, which is a lot more effective than at-home kits.
Have a talk to your doctor before making a decision.
Hope this helps and good luck.

If you have fine lines around eye area it's called laugh lines,
this means you're a happy person that smiles often.I would
suggest,Professional line Daily skin care, like Estee Lauder,orElisabeth Arden, you Know ...Wash,Toner,exfoliate,Moisturize.Don't sweat the small stuff, your skin is fragile. Too much messing
around with it can be bad in the long run.Be good to yourself.

I use Estee Lauder Perfectionist for very fine lines. It works extremely well, and no injections involved.

I think the cures are worse than the problem. Most likely you are the only one who sees them, besides don't they come from laughing a lot?
