If you have not received your mailed refund check you need to call the IRS to report this.
Double check the address on your return to make sure all the information is correct

you better contact the person or whoever sent the cheque for you. Let them know that maybe the cheque lost in mail.
They can stopped the cheque and keep an eye as well. So they will have no problem to issue another one for you. Request to them when mail again use registered post or something that is easy to track.

If you mean you mailed your paper work to them the 16th,then it's ok, it takes a while and it hasn't quite been a month yet. But if you mean,you already contacted them and they said it was "mailed" the 16th ,then ,I would worry.The IRS may take a long time but the mail usually doesn't ! If you live in a small town or are friendly with your mailperson , you may want to ask him or her if they remember delivering it.If they did then maybe someone got to your mailbox before you! Hope you don't have any "bad" neighbors,or "bad" kids in your neighborhood !!! If you have to call the IRS, and they tell you again it was sent , ask them if it was cashed.Then you will know how screwed you are. Good Luck!!!

how come people still have checks mailed to them...they offer direct deposit! i got my refund in 10 days through direct deposit,same thing for the last 3 years

This is why I do my taxes online. I had my taxes direct deposited to my account, and the money was there in a week after I submitted everything. Easy-peasy.
