The war on terrorim will not end for a long time. Even if the Islamic based tessorists are destroyed, there are still Tiothy McVeigh's, there will still be Nationalism, and there will be Fascist and Communist movements, that will attempt to justify killing innocent people.

Until all the terrorists are dead. We are in a war of survival, not a war of conquest. You must understand, while we are doing our normal routines and living our lives, terrorists are planning and plotting on various ways to kill us. Their whole being and lifestyle is focused on seeing us dead and they have no fear of dying to achieve that goal. One must become more aware of their surroundings and become more observant of things that are just the least bit different. Intelligence is power and one can gain intelligence by learning about the enemy. It is very hard to defeat an enemy that is more than willing to die just to kill you.

in a way, it'll go on forever. even if "the war" ends, there'll still be people who have a different point of view and may believe violence is the only solution. and it's not a matter of which political party wants controll. it's a matter of who's willing to clean up the crap that goes on around them.

I believe it was Nostradamus who predicted that the war on terrorism will last twenty or more years and the terrorists will eventually be defeated ! That being said, perhaps it's not a good idea to buy Iranian war bonds, at least for the long term !

Islamic terrorists have been attacking innocent civilians since at least the late 1970s, when they took Americans hostage at the Iranian embassy and began regularly doing things like hijacking and blowing up civilian airplanes from all different countries.
Since it's already been more than 25 years and the jihadists are still killing innocent people all around the world every day (see thereligionofpeace.com -- link below), it will probably not be over in our lifetime.
It's not a war the West chose, but it's a war the jihadists are determined to fight. We must win it unless we are willing to convert to Islam and submit ourselves to Islamic law and give up our personal and political freedoms.

There is no end, while there is no search, to change heart and minds from that path. Using force, can only (at best) contain it. But, does nothing to calm the arguments of others.
Reading some of the other answers, I would like to say, that with the terror wars, there is no winning. Just degrees of lose.

since we humans evolved and started thinking logically there have always been wars and terrorism throughtout history theres been wars and to answer ur question the terrorism will never end so as long as we live there will always be war and terrorism
