the only food processor that dices tomatoes acceptably is a good, sharp knife

I like to use a knife with a slightly serrated edge, that slices through the tougher outer skin. This skin is the reason that the processor gadgets don't work so well. They just squash the tomato. Many knifes (even sharp ones) do the same thing. The serration on my tomato knife cuts through the skin, then slices the tomato cleanly.

Use a serrated knife. Like a bread knife. I had the same problem. I went through a lot of different processers, but the serrated knife works the best.. Even though it takes more time the outcome is worth it.

Good luck with your tomatoes!

Take it back to old school and use a knife. Or just buy canned diced tomatos. That'll save time.
