same has above but you also need a key reader, to match key and ecu. it wrapes around the front of the egnition, and held on by one screw.

you are going to great extremes to achieve very little...u will need your head tested if you do this conversion..and i don't mean cylinder head!!
you could achieve better results by buying a power box and fitting it to the vehicle.
you will need lots of expensive things to do this conversion
from memory the cyl head is the same but the injectors and inlet track(manifold) are different the ecu is not necessary if you have access to a wds or ids machine... if u do carry out a no comms programming routine(pull out dlc connector during vehicle recognition) and manually select the calibration files for a 1.8 or a 2.0 if u want(be aware though 2.0 callibration files may cause the abs light to illuminate if the vehicle doesn't have esp) then carry out pcm update function and the latest 1.8 files will be loaded over the previous files..the wds/ids will continue to recognise the vehicle as a 1.6 from the chassis no. but it will be using the fuelling strategy for a 1.8..thats the ignition side done.
you will need the engine bay wiring loom from a 1.8 also as there are differences in some sensors( tmap on 1.8 map on 1.6) air filter housing is different and the pas pump is mounted in a different position but i am unsure if the pumps are same. a full donor vehicle would be the most cost effective way of carrying out this conversion.. my advice to you would be......DONT

hi there, you say you have the 1.8 ecu, if you have not got the ignition key that corrosponds with the ecu then it wont work because the code in the key sends a signal to the ecu and if the codes dont match then the immobilizer will cut in, trust me i've tryd this before, thats the only thing you need to worry about, hope this helps, Gary

First of all one of the people that have answered your question is right (im talking about the Tech) Anyway apart from the block and Ecu you will nedd the wiring loom and also possible G/box due to the diffrent ratios and power outputs Good luck
