Of course there are....many of them, you just have to seek for help. And actually the fact that you already started seeking for it is a half of the way to the cure.
My fiance has SA. He suffers for many years now, but has been a lot better lately (not to dare the devil). When he was diagnosed, we didn't know much about it, so to contribute i did a lot of researches on this subject.
I came across many of those who crued themselves. And one thing is for sure - nothing will fall out from the sky...u have to reach for it, give some big effort and time to finally be free. Your fears consider your challenge, don't pull yourself away from it....remeber that - practice makes perfect, and fear will eventually go away once you see that all situations you considered frightening are not that scary acutally.

See this site, it can help you face your fears or at least see that you are not alone. Also you will be able to share your expirience with those who did it - who cured themselves.

Just remeber - SA is curable! And if many can do it, so can you!!! Just work on it!

If you need someone to talk to feel free to write me an email:

I'll be glad to help, as I've seen almost all that SA can offer ;)

All the best!

People have different needs.
Based on two books I just got for this reason.
Cognitive therapy with exercises is great, and all, but it doesn't quite listen to who you are or how you feel.
These are your exercises, do your homework, come back next week.
talk therapy is good when this fails.
Medicine may help, in fact, it helps a lot, but has side effects.
And if you don't commit yourself to changing your behavior as well as your mind, to doing at least five times the work the therapist is doing, you can kiss it all goodbye.
You've gotta do the work.
So be prepared for that, and go get some help!

Yes, Zoloft helps. I had a family member who used it because they hated being near crows of people, and it relaxed her a lot, and helped her become more social in certain settings.

However, you need a prescription for it, so you will need to start to see a psychiatrist. They will also help you with your anxieties and help you slowly learn to control them without meds.

I wish I knew the answer because I know someone who has it to the extreme. I keep thinking it's something from childhood perhaps they were treated inferior to a sibling by a parent...... or they were ashamed of something from the past and unable to face anyone,I have also noticed they are selfish, greedy and cheap to an extreme but it doesent bother them, they have no friends and don't socialize. I hope you find the answer because I have wrecked my brain trying to find the cause of this.....
