Seriously, Always with wings...they are thinner now and more absorbent than you probably remember...The overnites are good for the first few days, and bring your own with you pack em in your hospital bag, then you won't have to wear their "diapers".

I like the ultrathin long pads put out by stayfree and always. You can also use the ultrathin overnight pads as well. Both are very thin, and they absorb well. I used the Stayfree after I had my son, and I'm going to use both brands when I deliver this week. Always now has those pads with the wipes attached, which is nice to have postpartum. You could get a separate tub of wipes, but in the first few postpartum days, it's really nice to have a wipe right there on the pad each time you change.

I never wore towels I always used tampons but after the birth I tried using normal sanitary towels but they were so uncomfortable and really couldn't take the bleeding. They seem to draw on your stitches. It was so uncomfortable. I then used the proper maternity towels and they were much more absorbant and softer. Still had to use 2 at a time though. The bleeding is really heavy at first but after about 14 days it was light enough to go to normal pads.
My baby is 7 weeks old now and let me tell you that after the trauma of birth and the sleepless nights you won't care if you rustle when you walk!!! lol x
Good Luck x

Honestly? Adult incontinence underwear, "Depends". They do NOT sound like a diaper, they are SUPER absorbent, they're soft and rather comfy (all things considered), and you don't have to worry about leakage (like spots on your pants when you stand up). They do cost a little more but they ARE so worth it!! I recommend the underwear style not the kind with buttons. No one will know you're wearing it unless you tell them. I had my 3rd baby in January and don't know why I didn't try them after the first baby! You can always try it and if you aren't comfortable you can find something that's better suited to you. (if you decide to go with regular pads, then I suggest going to a medical supply store and purchasing a washable reusable incontinence pad to put under you in bed. they're very absorbent and even if You leak they won't.) Good Luck!

I agree with everyone that suggested super with wings, I like kotex. At the hospital, they gave me a package of Poise which are huge but I went through them. Then I went to the super sized Kotex. Also, I couldn't live without the ice/maxi pads the nurses gave me, they're an ice pack that you break to get cold and they stick to your underwear. I would stick the Poise/Kotex maxi pad on my underwear and then I would put the ice maxi pad on top. I only used them for the first few days, then heat felt better. But the cold maxi really helped in the beginning so I consistently asked for them everyday so I could have some for when I got home. Good luck!

SUPER with WINGS and NEVER Always brand...they SOOOOO stick to ya. Due to a medical condition, I can no longer use anything but pads and I have found that the Equate(Walmart) brand super w wings is actually the best all the way around- no sticking, leaking or diaper sound and great protection. They are not expensive at all. Good Luck

Get super long ones. Better yet, even though you don't like pads, the ones the hospital gives you - are awesome.
I always got extra with all 3 of my kids - yeah it feels like wearing a diaper but it doesn't sound like one. Plus - it saves you time, money, and energy on having to clean up your leaks if you use smaller pads - b/c trust me, you will bleed a lot!!!

you need overnight pads or maternity pads(found at most pharmecies). If you aren't bleeding heavily, you can go to super(longs) and then just maxi and then to thins. I prefer Kotex or Always myself. I don't know of any pads that sound like a diaper any more. Congrats on the baby!

You could get the (over night) pads with wings...cause you are gonna bleed ALOT......they dont have to be thick like a diaper but you can find them now that are thinner and still do the same thing. after you have the baby they are gonna give you a pad to wear at the hospital, it is blah, but it works

The ones that they give you at the hospital look like elephant pads but you will need them for the first few days. After that buy heavy flow and after about 2 weeks you can go down to regular flow ones. Always were my brand of choice.

LOL, pads have changed quite a bit since I first started my period 15 years ago.
ALWAYS with wings are your best bet. I can't remember exactly how they word it, but there's an "overnight" or "long" one that's great for after you have a baby. They're super thin, but just as absorbant as the "diaper" pads of yesteryear.
