My sibs LOVE those individually packaged, extremely sweet, and expensive Quaker chewy granola bars. I'm looking for a recipe that will come close to what you can buy. They will not eat all those wonderful recipes for "homeade granola bars"- you know, the ones that are full of healthy stuff like nuts and raisins and oatbran. Anybody have a recipe that resembles a packaged sweet chewy granola bar, I'd love to have it!!!

Easy Granola Bars

INGREDIENTS
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, sweetened condensed milk, butter, coconut, almonds, chocolate chips and cranberries with your hands until well blended. Press flat into the prepared pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, depending on how crunchy you want them. Lightly browned just around the edges will give you moist, chewy bars. Let cool for 5 minutes, cut into squares then let cool completely before serving.

In a large bowl combine rice krispie cereal, oats and raisins.
In a saucepan stir together/combine corn syrup or honey and brown sugar; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon; remove from heat and add/stir in the peanut butter and vanilla until well combined.
Pour over the dry ingredients in the bowl; mix to combine.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Transfer the mixture into prepared baking dish.
Cool and cut into bars.

Oh that's so sweet of you!! I'm absolutely in love with Quaker Chewy Granola Bars!!

I don't know how to help you with the recipe, but they're not expensive everywhere , my dad gets them from Ultra Foods. A bag of the miniature ones (like 50 comes in a bag) for a dollar!

I don't exactly have a recipe , but couldn't you just kinda do it like Rice Krispy Treats ?You may want to read it on the back of the cereal box , but I'm pretty sure it's one stick of butter , one bag of marshmellows , and six cups of cereal. Except you would use quick oats instead of the cereal. { not instant oats} . You could add whatever you want , like - cocoa , raisins , choc. chips ,nuts ,sprinkles , etc. I don't know, but it sounds good, and you wouldn't have to bake it. Good luck!!
