Of course I like the military! Why wouldn't every American like the military? They are our first line of defense against any aggressor! They are willing to put their lives on the line for us.
Being in Iraq is not a choice for them, they must go where they are sent, no questions asked & they do just that! I'm sure that some in Iraq are not happy at being there but they have no choice other than treason! Thank goodness, we have a military that stands with very few who commit treason.

I LOVED the Navy. First off, it got me out of DELAWARE! I was on 5 ships, 8 oceans/seas, 6 continents (including a 13 month tour at McMurdo Station, Antarctica), visited 32 countries (some more than once), stationed in 3 countries. I have been as far east as Pakistan and as far west as Thailand, as far north as Nova Scotia and as far south as the South Pole (had the most southern fried chicken in the world that Sunday). I can go back to 6 countries and not have to stay in a hotel. I got to meet a pen-pal I had in 7th-8th grade who lives on an island in the Indian Ocean (Mauritius). My wife and sons lived with me in 2 of the countries. I have kept in touch with several of my old shipmates (3 have even come to visit for a few days). My son joined the Navy, got stationed in Japan and got hooked up with 3 of our Japanese friends. I learned so many things that I still use...even in my present job. If I had to do it all over again, I would in a nano-second!

yes if it were not for the men and woman in our military and the ones that where in the past and those that have given there lives for our country we might not have the freedom we have today so we should all thank those that are serving our country and say a prayer for those that have given there life or we may be one of the folks that we read about in the news The ones that are living in hell and have to worry about things we can thank God we don't. I personally want to say thanks for those that serve our country today and those as I said died I will say a prayer for

Yes. It was a great life for 23 years, Myself and my family got to see parts of the world that we would not normally have seen. Seven different states, Hawaii(wasn't a state then). Germany, France, Spain, Korea. Of course Viet Nam wasn't much fun but there are always down sides to any career. My family got to go to all these places (except Nam of course). I wouldn't trade it for anything. And now I'm retired 3 times. God has blessed me.

Love it. Great opportunity for young people to learn discipline. Honor, integrity, duty become more than words to them. Benefits are really good. A great springboard for the rest of your life.
