The amount of calories a person needs depends upon information we don't have and should be determined by a trained dietitian.
An infant needs a different amount of calories than an 85 yr old wheel bound woman.An Olympic athlete needs a different amount than a teen boy.An active pregnant woman needs a different amount than non active woman.
It is also based upon what you weight and if you are trying to lose weight, maintain or gain.

I wish there was a device that told someone exactly how many calories one burned in a day. According to the calculator below I need 2750 calories a day. An inactive 5'6" 100 lbs. 18 year old female would need 1600.

These are simply estimates. I eat too much, but run a lot. Running 11 miles a week keeps off the belly fat I am told, but I run 25 miles and still have it.
