It is driving me crazy! No one seems to know what MOTDA stands for!

And if it was MOTTA? If it is so, it's an Italian last name meaning "little hill". That is a last name very extended in the north of Italy and especially in Lombardia region where we have also many villages and little towns with Motta in their names: Motta San Damiano, Motta San Giovanni, Motta Visconti and many other. It's a middle age last name and it arrived even in France, example: La Motte. In Italy all Italian know it 'cause it's a name of the most important sweets industry that produces from so much time a famous Christmas cake: the 'Panettone', that derives from an old popular Milanese cake. Panettone means 'Great Bread'. I hope is that the answer.
