Follow the link below. Click on the link for current bulliten. it will show you by country what date they are currently processing application from.
For example, if your brother and sister are citizens of the Phillipines, they are currently processing visa application submitted September 1, 1984. All countries other than China, India, Mexico, and the Phillipines are processing visa submitted in 1996.
Best wishes.

As of my understanding, U.S. citizens are first priority. My brother is applying for his wife, she's here with a K-1 visa which took him 6 months, and now she's applying for permanent status and according to them it's going to take another 6 months. If you received a receipt # you can check online at www.uscis.gov and check their status. You might want to take into consideration their history, ex: if they were caught her illegaly, if they have crimminal backgrounds, if they own real estate, work history, bank accounts. all that affects the process

It depends on the country that your relatives are coming from. One of my brother-in-laws died waiting for his visa. He waited for over 20 years. His wife and children are not eligible now to come to the United States.

you can look it up on the USCIS site... but it can take many many years depending on the country they are coming from, and their age, and if they have dependents....
my uncle sponsored my dad about 15 years ago, and he has not been assigned a number yet, which means it will still be a long time....but it is all relative to your situation....you can look up what case numbers are being reviewed now at the uscis.gov site, or call them.
