My head gasket is leaking oil on the outside of the block???
Ive had rear main, pan, valve cover, o-ring adapter all replaced and still have an oil drip on the bottom of the bell housing. I also have some transmission fluid spraying on the underside where the drive shaft meets the transfer case and inbetween the transmission where I just spent $1000 having the dealer fix. Help!!!

The head gasket has not been replaced and is definetly leaking oil on the side of the spark plugs. It is not leaking from the valve cover.

All that work is quite simple. you could have saved some money if you did it your self. not joke its all that easy. buy yourself a hanes or chiltons book. They are real great for there step by step and once you see what they are talking about you will just fly right through the work.

Very doubtful the head is leaking enough oil for you to notice. Check the filter and it's orings again and make sure. If you paid someone to do this work take it back and make them fix it.

Forgot to add.. when you did the valve cover gasket you replaced or alteast cleaned the breathers right? If not oil can come out around them and run toward the back of the engine and look like a rear main leak as you describe.

unlike that 2nd answer i had a coolant leak on that side and yes you can see it so i wouldnt doubt that its not leaking. but head gaskets are easy if you mechcanicly inclined if not id bring it to a shop make sure oyu have them send the head to a machine shop to be checked for cracks.. its simple and pays for its self in the long run. and a 98 should not go back to the dealer find with labor rates around 100 dollars an hour find another shop ie Firestone/ Goodyear/ some reliable shop near you dealers are good for warranty work and reapirs if tyou have the $$$
