Try ONYX.
We run it daily on our Macs here at work.

Its a free download from Apple.

There's tons of free software out there to do things like this. Just check out the Mac OS X Downloads site. Search for "maintenance scripts".

Also, try looking on VersionTracker.

What kinds of problems are you having (if any)?

I've been using Mac OS X since it was in beta and have never had a need for such software.
