At my salon we use baking soda in the shampoo we use on them to take out the hairspray and product. We alwaysss do that. Put shampoo in your hair and then pour some baking soda on top of the shampoo and lather.

You need to get some clarifying shampoo. U can get the Clarifying Sauve Shampoo, it removes buildup. That will work. Also baking soda mixed with shampoo works. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE V05 OR TIDE OR OLIVE OIL. THAT WILL MAKE IT WORSE. TIDE WILL STRIP YOUR HAIR AND DAMAGE IT. I have a cosmotologist license. Trust me oils will make it worse, and tide removes stains so its going to remove the natural oil u have in your hair making your hair dry and dead.

Try using an oil product like Alberto VO5, or just plain olive oil. Rub it into your hair. After you have done this, try washing it our with detergent, like Tide, etc., or Dawn dish washing liquid. Then wash with shampoo and condition.
