I don't think it is. How do you define a cult? Can you prove this group is a cult?

In the way you are using the word, a cult is defined as:

A religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader or leaders.

Under this definition, any religion that is not typical or commonly adhered to that has extreme viewpoints is a cult. The adventists fall under this definition, as do many other Christian and non-Christian sects.

It is a cult, they dont believe in a literal Hell and they are work's based, they believe by work's(keeping the sabbath)that they will get to heaven. They believe it's evil to eat pork or beef as well. They are tied up in legalism and trying to live "a good life" like most false religions do.I have talked to many adventist's and they basically believe in what i just explained to you. Most adventist are not Bible centered in their life,it's just a religion to them.Christ is totally out of the picture.

The Adventist are probably the closest ones to us (christians) as far as agreeing on things.

They are insistant on Saturday as the Sabbath. But they hold to a code of sorts.....works based.

If you do not think it is a cult then why should we try and tell you it is. It is it Isn't in the end does it matter?

They are legalistic---they put themselves back under the law. Jesus died to free us from the constraints of the law because the law cannot save. The law teaches salvation by works, where as true Christianity teaches salvation by faith.
