try riding one without handles. The only non-funny answer i can think of is: to steer the bike.

Bikes have handles so you can get a grip to ure bike and you can turn and hang on or else u wouldnt bbe asking me this right noww You would be dead....

Bikes have HANDles because we have HANDS!!! If we had 4 legs, bikes would have LEGles!! .. Who knows.. there would even be bikes with Noseles, Earles and even Boobles!!!

it helps you contral the bike and helps you balance your bodyand helps you speed up and change gears.and help you stop in time.
