What did the girl/guy you asked out say?

I don't mean this to turn into an emo topic, I'm just curious as to what people say when they turn someone down.

I think people will come up with excuses, but I think they should try and be nice about it.

Years ago, I asked a girl if she would like to dance, and she replied no, my first instinct was to say something bad because I offer was rejected. Then I thought maybe she just does not dance. I then decided to take a chance and ask her if she would like to come to my apartment make love to me, and have a nice little breakfast in the morning, and watch cartoons.

She thought about it a second or two, and said Okay, I helped her with her coat and we left the club.

Bold but effective and the other guys and girls, were always wondering what I had said to her.

So I guess it pays not to overreact and take a few chances in life. (True Story) I was wearing a nice suit and she was very attractive and wearing a very nice top with a skirt.

We've all been rejected and we have all rejected someone before also. It really hurts when you are on the receiving end.

As for what the guy said . . . it hurts too much still to talk about it, however, I am now happily married to a guy way hotter than that dude!! I'm so glad he dumped me now but it doesn't take away the memory of the pain that I endured at the time of the rejection.

However, I can't resist retelling a rejection that happened to a friend of mine. She went out with this guy twice and had a great time. The last time, they went dancing into the very late hour. So, a few days later she calls him and he says that he can't see her anymore because he was just told he has only a few weeks to live. Yeah, right! The guy was very healthy just a few days before!

That rejection tale is my all time favorite!

Oh yeah. I've been rejected so many times I can't even count them all. I don't know all the reasons I've been rejected, some of them were a little silly while others were just flat out mean. However, most of the reasons I get are:
I need space
I don't like you that way

My favorite (which has been popping out lately, I don't know why)
You're too smart for me

If anybody can answer what that means I would love to know...

she seemed to take it wellwell it is really circumstantial it depends on how the person asks you. for example i was asked out just two days ago by a close friend. i was not expecting it at all she is really pretty and very intelligent so this did make it difficult. i was honest with her. (the best thing you can do) i told her how i felt about her that she is a good person and there is nothing wrong with her it is just that those feeling are not there. she seemed to take it well she gave me a kiss on the cheeck and said she would talk to me later. i have found that being honest while being nice is the best way to reject someone.

Being rejected is part of life. People do get rejected many times. Some excuses are...not feeling well, got an errand, got unexpected visitors, unexpected work to be done, didn't have enough rest or sick at the moment....

Yeah, i have, and Ive already had to reject someone. I just broke it off wiht my man, and i am NOT ready for another guy.

Anyway, long story short, a friend was like "you wanna go out???" and I just kindly told him "look, i'm REALLY flattered that you asked me out, but I dont want to hurt you by comparing you to my ex! sorry.."

But the good thing is, me and my ex are back to what was, best friends :D

I've had it done to me many times, but I have told girls that we could go out in a group situation. That's a pretty easy answer, that a man or a woman could use.

-"Sorry, you're cute, but I live (on the other side of the country)"
-"I know it's a cliche, but it really is me, not you. I'm not well right now. I think I'm depressed. But I still care about you... " [F*cker!]
-"No, I'm not going to the prom at all, sorry."
-"All we ever do is watch movies... I don't think I'm ready to have a girlfriend"
-"Honey, I've been talking to my friends, and they all agree you're a really NICE girl... but I think it's more important to be respected than to be nice, and I don't think anyone respects you." [that one put me in therapy for years, sigh]

I always block it out the moment it happens, or I'd never have the courage to try again another time.
