they want to do away with abortion, they want to do away with homosexuality, when neither of those affect them personally. do away with harry potter, with santa clause, with the easter bunny. and the list keeps growing.

where in the bible does it state that christians are put on the earth to control the non-believing mass? i dont ever recall reading that... (if u cant find a verse that says this, why protest it? why not whine about it in your little church groups and leave it at that?)

How do you know what Christians think because we live by the Bible, leading lives that we feel is the best for people by following Jesus' example. Generally, when a person is living in sin, all most Christians want is for you to have a happier life and a clean heart by following God's commandments; not to try to rule your life.

We don't have any control. Only God has the control. And we who love the Lord defend HIS word--it is not our word, but HIS. And we know His word is good and is holy and righteous.
Now about the Easter bunny--I do not think it is a sin to joke around about it, but I don't think its a good idea to cover up the death and resurrection of Christ when celebrating Easter, so I would say kids should know the true meaning......the same for Christmas, my parents always joke with my kids abotu Santa, but they know it is about the birth of Jesus- and we honor Him during that time ( we should honor him everyday!)
Abortion is a sin in God's eyes- so yes I would be against it- "Thou shalt not kill"
Also homosexuality is a sin in God's eyes-- stated as an "abomination" in His eyes in Leviticus. Also in 1 Corinthians 6--very clear it is a sin. So yes I am against it, but I do not "hate" gays. I do not support their lifestyle but I would not hate them.
And as far as Harry Potter goes, I don't want my kids watching that in general, it has to do with spirits and witches and they don't need their minds filled with that---Many non christians feel that way too about Harry Potter. (but it is not a sin to read those books! Many choose to do what they want, and if they are not convicted, it is between them and God)

Chippy, surely you know by now that such people are lost. Then again if you keep posting like this, maybe some will begin to understand what it means to be Christian.
