You have had some pretty helpful anwers so far, but may I also suggest that your boyfriend join the military? He will find a solid career, training, and lots of other young men who have been in his shoes. It will help bring his credibility as a citizen back as well.

My husband was in the Marine's and they paid for him to go to school while he was in the service, and now that he is out he is going to school full time and recieves the GI Bill, which is over $1000 a month, which is non-taxable.

best wishes.

It is a little know fact that ex-cons are a minority group and qualify for many financial programs designed to help them get back on their feet. You should visit your local library to get local information, and or see a councilor at a community college. Get some information from friends or people at the college to see who is a caring councilor and you will get further. That should get you started.

yeah the financial aid office is usually right next to the admissions office. the people inside that office should be able to answer all of your questions.
