I've been an atheist for almost 4 years now and I have never told my parents. I usually just "fake" graise and "fake" praying. I don't think there's a God. But what will my parents think if I tell them?

They may react negatively, being from what you said they probably are very religious. I was born and raised Catholic, and my Catholic mother does not like the fact that I am a spiritualist & practice other beliefs and integrate it with some of my Catholic beliefs (like believing in a higher power), so to say. You are entitled to your views even if your parents disagree with them. You will got a lot of grief from the beginning but over time if they really love you they'll come to understand and respect your beliefs.

I was raised in a christian household and as I started to get older I realized that there are way too many flaws in christianity and too many questions that could not be answered. So I told my parents why I could not believe in something that did not make sense and wasn't even slightly beliveable. I presented them with my argument and they actually felt the same way that I did. I am agnostic now and I have never been happier. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure they would handle the truth better than any hypocrisy. If you're over 18, it should be strictly your choice in any case. If you're a good person, it shouldn't matter either way.

Simple say what you believe.
Explain everything calmly and make sure you don't insult them.
I only hope within time you return to the hands of our Lord. Remember that God is love.

You don't say how old you are. That makes a difference. It's best not to lie but if they will be very angry with you then wait until you move out and then do it.

If you base your morals on human thinking, then you must tell them. Wait a minute, human thinking supports lying, you may want to keep lying otherwise you might discover you believe in morals supported by a God. Whoa to you when you have just found yourself. Good luck

Yes, you should, but if you are doing it just to get a reaction, expect one

If you want you can look at my profile, and write down some of the questions I've asked,a nd ask them to help you find God by answering a few simple questions about the Bible. And everytime they use circular reasoning (i.e. "the Bible says so") make sure you say "whomp-whomp-whoooooomp"
