It should never be your family making the call on who you should like and date or not. Go with your gut and follow your heart. If you like him tell him. Thats what I have always done. And it works trust me that is how I got my last BF. Good Luck girl

Well it sounds like you and this guy have a very trusting relationship .... i mean you are best friends. I think if you are sure he likes you .... tell him. What is the harm it sounds like you two could be good together. About your family why would they be mad .... they know you two have known eachother for a while. I am sure they would rather have you date him than some guy they do not know. Good luck hope I could help!

Some people claim love develops rather than at first sight. I am not one of those people. Unless you feel completely in love and ready to committ, I wouldn't mess with the guy. Would you really want to ruin your friendship?

If you DO feel ready, get to the core as to why your parents don't like the guy. Maybe they have a valid reason, or maybe they're just not wanting their kid to grow up and start dating. Make them a cute dinner and talk to them about it! It won't be so difficult. Acknowledge their concerns before yours. Then make a decision! =)

It always amazes me when young ladies ask questions concerning their BF. They rarely ever state their age, which makes it very difficult to answer. There is a big difference in advice given to a 13 or 14 year old compared to a 17 or 18 year old. Always be respectful of your parents wishes.

One thing I have learned being in a smiliar situation is you have to do what you want. Do whats going to make you happy in the long run. You have to live your life the way you want to otherwise you wont be happy. Honestly if you like him go for it....who cares what other people say as long as your happy.

If you like him tell him, does your family have good reason not to like him, or the just not able to let go, and except the fact that you are growing up?
