I think that it is stupid to build a FENCE on our border. It is a waste of money! They could take the billions of dollars and HELP mexicans and other poor countrys!! People say that they use up America's money. Bull. How many white/black/asian/etc americans let the government take care of them!!! There is bad and good no matter what color you are!!! America is suppposed to be where you can come to actually make something of yourself and the ones that say that the mexicans need to go home need to stop being so selfish and get over themselves. I see myself as AMERICAN not white and i think ppl need 2 stop looking at color so much. it is important but yr country is more. What do you think???

Yes, it all DOES have to deal with color! 'look at those mexicans, they need to go back to mexico' or 'im poor b/c the mexicans are taking all the jobs'. what a bunch of crap! half the time, the people that are pointed at and talked about AREN'T mexican or were born here.
Also, you say fairness? It takes years and MONEY to get here but for most of them it is the only choice they have.
Excuses are for the weak and if you want to complain, why don't you go help Mexico so the mexicans won't have to come here?

It´s stupid.... no fence will keep the illegal immigrants away...
They are just doing it for the elections.... I agree with you...
US do not have the obligation to help with money those nations, but if they actually want to stop illegal immigration .... it´s the only way...
If the people of those countries have a good job, but a good $$ job.... they will not leave their country, people and traditions for the discrimination and abuse that they receive in the US.

I think it has nothing to do with something as pathetic as the color argument. I think it has everything to do with those who cross not following the rules. Here's another way to think about it:
Two large families in a neighborhood live side by side. One of the families has a swimming pool, cable/satelite service, internet, hot tub, game room and all of the fancy trimmings, while the other family's set up is a bit basic. The kids from the basic house are constantly over, even when uninvited. How do you keep it under control? You set up rules to say when the conditions are right for company. And those who break the rules are sent home. In the meantime, a fence is built to control how and where the neighbors come to visit. That's what this situation is all about, in a nutshell.
A few Mexicans, and some others who are using their border with us, are violating the rules. I know it isn't just Mexicans, and I applaud the Mexican people for their diligence at stopping transients from using their border to cause domestic problems between us and them. Ya just gotta do it right. That's all.

There seems to be an important part of your debate missing-
Illegal doesn't describe a color it describes your immigration status.
If you entered this country without a visa, you are an illegal alien. Most of our illegal aliens come from Mexico and they cross the border into America without stopping to say hello to immigration officials.
What that really means, is we have no idea what is coming into our country. We don't know their names, vaccination history, criminal history- we know nada about these tress-passers.
Color isn't the issue, Einstein /national security is
Build the fence arm it well
Deport all illegals and their anchor babies upon detection
EDIT: Why don't the Mexicans help themselves while in Mexico- so they're not breaking the law and risking their lives to get here?

I don't think a fence will be as effective as a landmine field, which I have always strongly supported.
As far as your selfish comment, you are one of the Americans that is not being directly affected by the millions crossing our borders.
I have to pay thousands of dollars a year, for 20 years now to correct the damage of illegals crossing the border onto my private property. The illegal aliens are the selfish ones, they are invading our country in a mass invasion to destroy it and turn it into Mexico.
They do not care about Americans, and the effects that their invasion is having on this country. Do you have the deep pockets to raise and educate their children, feed, house, and provide medical care for them while they send their money back to Mexico? We are giving Mexico billions of dollars, Mexico's second source of income is from the illegals aliens in our country.
Do you realize that illegal aliens are making the high school diploma obsolete, and that poor American families must now find out a way to get a college or trade school education, so that they can support themselves, because all non-skilled jobs, are being given to illegals and their anchor children?
Do you accept their identity theft, medical insurance fraud, auto thefts, and skyrocketing drunk driving and hit and run deaths of Americans? Did you know that illegal aliens have killed more Americans than the Iraq War? Do you think allowing illegal alien gang members to settle in America is good for the safety of our country?
I am fed up, and there needs to be something done about it, I am sure that if you had to protect your backyard from drug smugglers with guns, discover abandoned illegal alien corpses, and pay thousands out of pocket each year to fight it you would change your tune real quick. Fortunately, many Americans are waking up to the problem, seeing it as a threat to this country, and are making efforts to stop it.

Securing the border is not about race. Without control of the borders the nation ceases to be a nation. America has given billions of dollars to poor countries with limited results. Aid can only be effective after the receiving country establishes a rule of law, with a Representative form of government and a free market economy, anything else only ensures the misery of it's masses. As to the fence build it long, build it strong, build it tall and above all use land mines between the layer of it. When we finish the southern barrier get to work on the north

Yes. These illegal immigrants are disrespecting our laws by coming here illegally and not getting citizenship. We need to build an advance fence, not just physically but digitally with computers and censors so these illegals can go do it the legal way. Think about it folks, if we keep letting these ilegals come in, in a decade or so we will be the minority.

The issue isn't color here...We have at last estimates 30 million people here illegally..That is a major problem when 1/10th of our population is here illegally.
How can we secure our nation or our culture or provide jobs to all of these people? Immigration needs to be enforced ..
When you have more people coming in then we can handle it causes huge economical and social problems.
I agree we have a lot of people abusing welfare and it needs to be stopped.
I see myself as an American as well.. but if our country is going to last, we have to build that fence and do something about these illegals.
We can't just let every poor person in the world come here.

The fence does do help vs drug runners driving vans and trucks full of drugs across the border.
Its effectiveness against illegal immigrations will be some but its definitely not going to accomplish all that much.

It isn't about the color of their skin, it is the fact they have broken the law and are here illegally. The fact that our hospitals are going bankrupt, the fact that the schools in my state are filled with English learners. They are sucking us dry.
We already sent billions of our tax dollars to these countries. It hasn't helped.
You obviously do not live on a border state. Come live in my city for a week and then think about your question.
I think we should build a great wall of the United States of America and arm it with our military.

Clearly reality TV is the answer.
We need to set up an obstacle course and televise it. People who want to come to America need to traverse the course within 2 minutes. If they can, they get full citizenship. If not, they get deported.
I think the ratings would be great. Also I am not saying this should be for people crossing the Mexican border, but for the Canadians too.
