Depends where you're getting it done. If you have more body fat in the area you're getting a tattoo, chances are it will be less painful. It all depends on your tolerance. Lower back hurts the most supposedly.

It's not bad at all! I was the same way you were but I got over it! Really it all depends on the size of the tattoo and the location. If it is a big piece then it will take longer and it will get more painful as you go, but if it is something small that wont take long then it's a breeze! But it's not unbearable, it's just uncomfortable, hope this helps!! Good luck to ya:)

If it was unbearable nobody would be getting it done, or just those people who were masochists. Just a word of advice research the studio that you will be going to very well. Ask them for references and if it is a good studio and the person that is doing the work is a professional it should be a minimal amount of discomfort. Imagine what it was like having your ears pierced only less. Make sure that the area that you have chosen to have the tat done has enough padding that it will not be against bone and that the area is not high in nerve endings.

As long as it's not on the back of your neck, your ribs or you abdomen you should be fine. It's not a pain really, it feels like a burning, besides you will be more annoyed and distracted by the dentist drill-like noise the tattoo machine makes. In any case take a friend with you for support and maybe hold their hand if you feel like it's too painful.

I have 2 tattoos. One right below my neck, and one on my arm. Neither one hurt at all. They just burned a little. If you follow the aftercare instructions then you won't get an infection. A couple of advil beforehand should be enough for any anticipated pain, but could cause more bleeding.

It definitely depends where you get it. I had one done on my lower back, and I'm pretty thin, so I felt like it was hitting my backbone. It hurt so bad at first, I actually passed out for a minute, but it was like 100 degrees in the place and I was a little drunk... haha. I heard the wrist hurts a lot too.
After a while you dont feel the needles anymore. Didnt mean to scare you! Its worth it though.

It depends on where the tattoo is going to be. My first was near my hip bone and hurt...I didn't get another for about 10 years because I thought it would hurt again. The second one I got was on my arm and barely hurt at all. Ask the Tattooist where the least sensitive area is.

Please ....DO NOT GET A TATTOO.
Wait 6 months and if you still want one, then go ahead.
Tattoos are painful, unsightly, and can cause deadly infections.
Just Don't Do IT !
