I've had this uncontrollable itch when i overheat for the last year or so now. Its taking over my life because i find it hard to do even the littlest things. I've seen a doctor and they ran a couple of blood tests and the results said i was fine. So all they do is keep prescribing me anti-hystemines, all of which NEVER work! The thing is though, even though the doctor has diagnosed it as hives there is nothing to be seen after scratching, no rash, lumps bumps anything. Just an itch underneath the skin usually on my upper arms, shoulders , chest and stomach, I'm going mad her so does anyone have anymore ideas that might work at least help!!? (also i tried taking some things out of my diet which might cause it and again there seems to be nothing).

have you tried taking claratin when the itching first starts? There is this bath stuff from Aveeno it is for hives. you put it into the water when you take a bath and it is suppose to take the itching away. Have you had an allergy test. They do a graph on your back and poke you with all different kinds of stuff to see what you are allergic too. Maybe you should do that and narrow down what it could be from.

Hives can be difficult- you almost have to be a detective to figure out why you are getting them. So many things can cause them: overheating, cold, food, food additives, medications, allergic reaction to something touching your skin. You have to pay very close attention as to what you are eating or doing before you get the breakouts. If you think it has to do with overheating, there is a skin disease, called heat urticaria, that does cause you to break out in hives if your body overheats. Antihistamines does seem to be the main treatment. But, if you can manage to pay close attention as to the reason you are breaking out, it will help in treating it. If it is strictly from overheating, search the web on heat urticaria and read up on what to do. Also, you may need to see a 'dermatologist' and get prescription medications and/or patch testing. Good luck!

You should see another doctor, it sounds horrible. Try taking a bath and put some oatmeal in a stocking and rub it on your skin. It really helps with itching. I have really itchy skin as well, nothing like you though, and lotions with menthol help alot. Good luck, I hope you get some relief soon!

try this,
I found a perfect solution for you to consider: 1. Taking 3-4 baths a week with 2 cups of

ACV[The inexspensive stuff in the grocery store is just as good for this application] - soak

for 30 minutes then shower for a minute in cold water
2. 3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals to take a tablespoon of [raw from a health food

store]ACV in a tepid glass of water. Add a little honey or blackstrap molasses for taste[I

add cinnamon].

I have found an awesome site to get free samples. I get all sorts of new products that haven’t even hit the market yet. It is kind of like a beta testing site for new products. They test everything from food to beauty samples to video games. Here is the site.
