If you were a girl Id say hang your bikini on your closet door knob and put a picture next to it of what you want to look like!

If youre a guy, print a picture out of the body you want to have, and stick that as your homepage so that when you get online, youll be more motivated to get right back off again. Lay your gym clothes out before you go to bed every night so that youll put them on in the AM and go to the gym! Its springtime and its beautiful outside! (at least here in Dallas TX it is) Get off your booty and take a walk outside! If you live in the city go window shopping (even if you are a guy). If you live in the country or suburbs there is no excuse not to go outside and enjoy a walk.

I took a motivation class at my office once and one of thing was to put a lot of notes around where you live reminding you of what you want to accomplish. Also, having a picture of what you want to look like by going to gym around can train your brain to realize for what you are working so hard.

I used to pick up my nephew and take him with me to the gym. We would work out together and it was fun. We would continue to push each other hard for the results we wanted. We actually got up to 24 miles on the stationary exercise bikes, but we had to make sure we brought some Gatorade along with us because the bottled water was not enough by itself and the Gatorade really kept us going.

What motivated me is hiring a personal trainer for a month who made me accountable for all my workouts and diet. After a month when I was able to actually see the results, it was easier to keep motivated.
It's hard to motivate in the beginning when you don't see anything happening. And it's too easy to make excuses when no one is holding you accountable .

I always just try to remember how much fun I have when I actually go! I understand where you're coming from though. I have the same problem. I think the key is to just try your best to make it a habit. I think once you're used to going regularly it won't be such an inner struggle...that's what I tell myself anyway!

Put some good music on your Mp3 and get out and walk--it's free, you get out of the house, and the fresh air will do you good. It's good to alternate gym exercise with something different.

Do you have any friends or family that go to the gym, if not get them to join with you so you can go with a few people and that should help.

Change your workouts frequently...like everytime you go to the gym. Sometimes just do cardio....other time mix cardio and lifting. I also buy magazines with beautiful people and that usually makes me want to take care of myself better.

See how much more energy the training gets you and then go for the next step up. Ambition was never the watchword of the unmotivated.
