I tithe because it's what the Bible tells us to do. It's a form of obedience and worship to God. I think you will see that the rewards from tithing are huge. Hard to believe that you could have more by giving some away. You can't out give God.

Tithing is an Old Testament concept and was a requirement of the law in which all Israelites were give 10%.
The New Testament nowhere assigns a certain percentage of income to set aside, but only says it is to be “in keeping with his income” (1 Corinthians 16:2).
Bottom line is the church needs money to run and it has to come from somewhere.

Yes, we tithe, and we do it gladly as God says so. We are to be holy and obedient ppl if we truly know and love God, and be glad to do so. God tells us to tithe, and it is the only way to truly be blessed by God, just like obeying the other thngs He tells us to do. It will bless you, even tho some dont see it right away. Once you get into obedience with God in every area, you life will begin to change in ways you never dreamed possible. Once we began to understand about first fruit tithing and even first fruits offerings, and did so, it changed our lives. Suddenly we have so many blessings, and even started our own business which we had almost gave up on. You may not see it instantly, but it is Faith that still moves mountains today. You dont do it just cuz its right or to be blessed. YOu do it cuz you want to do what God says to do, knowing He alone knows best. Try it, pray, watch and wait, you will be astounded to the miracles that come.

Yes this is the thing to do, you can't out give God the more you give the more you receive, however we do not tithe and give an offering to see what God will give us, we give because we Love God and Love to obey Him. And yes you can tithe on other things, that is what a lot of people don't understand, God not only gives us money He also gives us time, talent and everything that we have. Try giving God 10% of your time each week, 10% of your talent and what ever else you have and watch what He does for you. However like I said only do this if you are giving out of Love otherwise God is not satisfied.

Hello Jessica. Yes it's a great thing to tithe in Church, how its describe in the Bible the Church are the Christian believers/people. The money is to help the Church going not so the workers can get all rich. If you feel angry because you have to give money, then God doesn't want you money. I try to give, I'm going to be honest with you Jessica. It is hard at sometimes but that's why when we place our faith in him everything with be ok in his sight. I hope you get what I trying to say to you Jessica.

Tithing is giving 10% of your weekly earnings to the Lord to thank him for blessing you. They are used by the church to support the organization. You can't give your patience to the Lord. You can only follow him and dedicate your life to him. I tithe and have been doing it since I was a child. I do it because I think it's important.

I believe the principle of tithing extends to all areas where you have received a blessing from the Lord...such as in the area of mercy (being merciful to others as the Lord has been with you), sharing the Word (sharing the wisdom God has given you), etc....So I think your assessment is very insightful. Tithing is not just money...and even when it is money, God's Church is all around us, not just at our local place of worship. Giving to a homeless person is tithing. For Jesus said whatever you have done for one of the least of these you have done for me!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive there is no tithing mention in the NT, jus the OT. It's an OT law, like stoning adulterers, taking good care of your slaves, etc.
Why would you follow tithing and not the rest of the Law, why would you pick and choose?
either the old law is in force or it's not for you.

Tithing is certainly biblicaly backed, and necessary for the church to survive. When you tithe, God is pleased, and I believe you will receive blessings... I also believe that tithing does not always have to be monetary. One who volunteers time to the church can also consider that time as tithe given to the church... In any case, God knows your heart!!! May your life be blessed...

I tithe on my gross because of Malachi 3:10-12 We are to give our tithes and offerings unto the Lord on the first day of the week. It also says if we dont that there is a curse put on us same cahpter Malachi is the last book in the Old Testament.
