It's purely geographical.

The fable-spinners who wrote the Bible didn't understand that though. That's why we have the ludicrous story of The Tower of Babel.

I believe that launguage itself is the creation of God.

The Tower of Babel is a story in the Bible that tells how a people who spoke one language tried to build a tower to reach heaven. God got angry and jumbled up their speech creating the languages. Those who spoke the same language grouped together and went to the same area.

Texans speak the same language as everyone else (believe it or not!) but just a different accent, just like everyone else from around the country.

Therefore, language itself is God's creation, but accents are purely geographical.

yes Language is God's creation. He created it at the tower of Babel so that the people would spread out and populate the earth (It worked). but different accents are formed indirectly because of the language barrier and because of geographical locations.

Great question.

Here is your answer.

GEN 11V
. 6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. 8So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

If youre a believer in God, you would believe that everything is His creation.

If youre not a believer in God, you would believe it came about by circumstance alone.
