I took him to the doctor today and she looked at the cyst that is on his throat and noticed it was red and he is now on meds to get rid of the infection. She said it looks like the tube that is supposed to close at birth didn't for him and now it has formed a cyst. I couldn't get her to give me more information (I don't think she knew anything else about it) and referred us to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor. We scheduled an appointment but its not for 2 weeks and I want to know what this cyst is!

My granddaughter was born with a tiny whole on the side of her throat. No one noticed it but me! I had my daughter take her to the doctor. I turned out to be a cyst very close to a major artery. They did surgery and shes doing great! She's 7 now and has a very tiny scar. I can't tell you what the cyst is but I'm sure the doctor can. I'm sure the circumstances are similar cos they told my daughter that little hole should of closed at birth. Hope this helps you.

My daughter had a cyst on the very tip of her collar bone, her doctor told me too that it was something that passed after the birth (?) I really didn't understand..... She had x-ray, nothing wrong came up and over time it just vanished (she was around 2 when I found it and now shes 3 and half and it's just gone)
