Once your body is convinced that you are not starving to death, your system will go back to normal. It is a safety feature built into our systems, this starvation mode. This mode keeps us from losing weight when we are not eating, if the body does not believe it is getting enough food into itself with what you ARE eating. You cannot just stop eating and expect your body to 'like it'. You must eat enough that your body does not turn inward and start 'eating' all the needed vitamins and minerals that are inside your own body! The body was created to take as good care of itself as humanly possible. Try eating a non-fattening, but, regular diet with various foods from different food groups. Before you ask how long will this take, please ask yourself this: "Do I really need to lose weight? Why is my body fighting me on this?"
Your body may not be happy with your diet as it is. Eat properly for as long as it takes to get your system back in order, and be happy that your 'starvation mode' clicked 'on' to give you a warning light.

It takes your body about 12hrs without food
to start using its fat for energy.

& to "get out of starvation mode"
just slowly increase the number of calories you get.

I think that's what you're asking.
