Mine isn't a Outback, but my theory might work for you, it worked for me. I followed the "sound" to its source, mine was behind a light on the ceiling. I removed the "clip thing" in there, and the sound stopped! Thank God, it was driving me crazy. Your's may be there or possibly in the driver door, if it's in the door, you can take it to a mechanic and they will remove it as long as you have other "safety feature/s" that cause the sound to come on if you start the car and driving/sitting in the seat. Mine also had an item in the door causing a "draw", related to the same seat belt issue. They removed that item, now the battery won't drain, and I can drive in peace.

Theres usually a way to turn the noise off, like a procedure to follow. I know in my explorer you have to turn the car on, and then attach and unattach the seatbelt something like 5 times in a 10 second period. " have never done it, but check your owner's manual, there should be something in there along those lines.

Not sure why one would sit in a vehicle that much?? Anyway if it bugs you that much go to a junk yard and buy a latch that you can stick in there while just sitting, of course you want to put your seatbelt on when you start driving!

I'm not too sure that is legal. It should be illegal if it isn't. I've seen too many people killed who wouldn't have been if they had been wearing their seat belts. A good friend who is a State Trooper said that in 40 years of working accidents he has never pulled a dead person from a seat belt but pulled many dead ones out who weren't wearing them. A little bit of inconvenience isn't worth the risk of losing your life or being permanently injured.

i'm bare with out seat belt. you ought to easily buckle it then take a seat. this is the only answer. there is not any fuse for that. There demanding on objective so people merely buckle up. i could incredibly pay attention to the noise than have an airbag in my face in my opinion.

Click the seat belts together. Noise will stop, but you'll be free to move around.
