We are man only and not God. So our perception of God may not be as accurate as we might wish it were so.
As far as poverty in Africa or Asia there is more to poverty than food or homes or luxuries. There is spiritual poverty; people missing peace of mind, and heart and contentment with the things they have. What the Asian and African countries miss in material wealth they make up for in spiritual wealth. This is why so many Americans or Western advanced technological societies look at the African or Asian country's spiritual or philosophies to feed that hunger within them that the material things can't provide for them in the west.
Lastly some of the poverty found in African or Asia can be found at the political or religious leader's feet where wealth or material gain could be divided with the people but is not. Hence the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. And power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
You should understand that when the foreigners were looking for slaves in the 1800's in Africa that the leaders of the tribes were just as bad with deciding which tribal members could be sold as slaves. This is history.
Before you blame God for all of man's ills. See if man is at fault too. And if he is. Than he is also the solution tot he problem as well. And this is what God wants all of man to do. To help one another.

The world was a very different place when America became a country. The world was full of imperialistic countries, seeking to overthrow and dominate one another. Brittan, France, Spain, Portugal, Japan, the Aztecs, etc, etc, etc.
Additionally dictators, kings, and emperors were the norm.
Religion was dominated by the rulers.
Then along came America. It became a model of self-rule, individual rights, freedoms, and the pursuit of happiness. Religion was a freedom. There was no aristocratic class.
I believe that God has blessed America because it was founded under his inspiration by faithful, god-fearing men and has been an example and a model to the world.
I believe that God will bless any nation who's citizens live good lives and put their trust in him.
For the past 200 years the world has been a better place because of the existence of America. I hope that God will continue to bless America

There is poverty is the U.S. too. The difference is that in the U.S. there are opportunities that are not in Africa and Asia. God blesses America because this country was founded by God fearing men.

They damn themselves. America is blessed because of the many obedient Christians. Notice the contrast between blessed nations and less-blessed: Freedom, rather than communism and political islam. A blessing is God's promise to those who obey, not those who oppress and make their own people miserable with poverty. Go live in Africa and be a blessing to them if you're so concerned.

Ok I have to wonder where you heard that? Last time I knew he didn't. Poverty has nothing to do with god. To think there is no poverty in America your mistaken. We are just more advanced than some other countries. If your willing to work, you have a job. That isn't the case over there.

(I'm going to answer a lot of the comments made to this question as well as your own.) God blesses America because our country was founded for the sole purpose of wanting to be able to worship Him however they wanted. He blessed our country's founding obedience to Him. But if you look at it, His blessings aren't so abundant on this country as they were. Look at how currupt society is becoming! I don't believe God damns anyone; if you look at John 9:3, you'll see that Jesus is telling His disciples that this certain man is not blind because of anything wrong he has done, but so that God's glory may be shown. That's why bad things are happening all over the world - that the glory of God may be manifested all over the earth. As for the question of whether there even IS a God, I would say absolutely. Just looking at the complexity of life, the vastness of the universe, and the depth to each individual's soul points to a Higher Power. God loves us, His creation, and He doesn't want anyone to go to hell (as harsh as that sounds). Like I said, he doesn't damn anyone; He doesn't make bad things happen. He allows bad things to happen in order to turn our hearts to Him.

I hate the phrase "God Bless America." God blesses people, NOT nations. He has believers in every country of the world, not just the US. I am American but I realize that there is life outside the US.

The poverty in countries such as Africa and Asia are due to the greed of their governments, not God. I dont know how many times we have sent boat loads of food to Africa only to have their governments either take it ALL for themselves, or to let it sit in the harbors and rot. How many times have you heard of a starving to death government official in Africa? There are none.

America will not escape judgment. This country is getting worse and worse, not better. When we have leadership that sets war as a priority over the welfare of the citizens, then we are on the brink of a breaking----and I mean a severe breaking that we shall all witness before the coming of the rapture and the Great Tribulation.
