You ask this like it's a bad thing. P.S. I f my mom looked like you - I'd worship her, too.

Worship and adoration is natural between parents and children.

(By the way, you understand the King James meaning of "worship", right? It's not about animal sacrifice and praying towards Mecca 5 times daily; it's about affection and respect.)

Respect is the only thing I ask from them. With the respect of my children I can better motivate them to adopt the fundamentals of what I believe to be the virtues of good character. Should they worship and adore me? No. I am not a god... yet.

Gave up adoration & worship after 3 months. Still trying to get the 'respect' part from my 4-year old. Tough going....

I don't have any, but I would require at LEAST that they like/love me.

I don't need to be patronized or paid lip service by the brats I labored for 36 hours to bring into this world, who are responsible for my 9 months of discomfort, weight gain, varicose veins, stretch marks, and learning what a mucous plug is.

Damned little brats better suck up and big time!

Good parents do not want to be worshipped; and neither does Jesus or God (our father in Heaven) . - Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God.

Good parents have told us what they want a million times. Why have so many of us forgotten that famous phrase?

"Quit fighting and learn to get along with each other" - or words to that effect.

What does God want from us?

The same thing; he wants us to get along with each other. Religious Empires would never preach such a thing. They profit from our antagonisms with each other.

I enjoy all 3.

But I only demand respect, and I work hard to be worthy of that respect so it will continue to adulthood.

"Parents...Do you require worship and adoration from your children?"

NOT AT ALL!

"Or do you request only that they show you respect?"

not even so much that... (would be nice) but i would like my daughter to grow up to be a nice, respectful, productive, happy member of society- thats what i want for her.

If you are trying to compare parents to God....no, I do not demand worship, because I know I am not God, just a lowly sinner.
However, I do demand obedience, since I am the parent, and God has put them in my charge.

Only respect Red Queen...and sometimes I do not get it, lol. I do hope they love me and enjoy spending time with me.

I demand total worship and adoration. They must bow down to me at least three times per day and must pray to me for everything they receive ;)
