I joined this yahoo question thing about a week and a half ago and just came onto the religious section this week. My question is this.....Why and how in the hell are the predominant "christians" on here so judgmental towards other beliefs, religions, etc??????

Does not the Bible CONTINUOUSLY tell believers NOT to cast the first stone??? I figure if I start my own church of Judgmental Christians I should be extrememly wealthy in maybe 3 days.

BTW, I have a degree in theology, have done missionary work in several 3rd world countries so PLEASE ,"Christian," do not approach as if I know nothing about the scriptures. And this isnt to ALL Christians. Just those hypocritical ones that think their judgment of other people outweighs the savior himself.

I'm... floored. A Christian that thinks with their brain instead of their faith. Wonderful.... absolutely wonderful. You'd be one of those Christians I'd be happy to know in real life.

Any answer here is a judgment.
Cast the stone bro... how many have you said to "grow up"?

We are called to be a light
To expose the wicked and their evil.
To do so with love and compassion.
To stand in the gap at times.

If the judgment is of our self, or motivated by anger..
then it would be a sin.
If the judgment is based on God's word...
Then it is a righteous judgment.

We all sin, even Christians.
No one is perfect, and that is not being hypocritical.
Some just will not know unless they are told.
The Spirit convicts, we are to speak the Word of truth,
and share our own story/testimony.

Even Christ came telling everyone "to repent"
But you know this....

Aren't you just judging the christians who talk about hell and sin? Didn't Jesus talk about hell and how he would separate the goats from the sheep and say to those who denied him, "depart from me, I never knew you." By your own logic, you have no right to judge others as being judgmental. Only God knows the heat motivation of a person that is preaching whether it is pride or humility. You're like all christians, wrestling with the flesh and emotions, wanting to throw some stones yourself. Where is the grace and soft answer in your question. You are the person you speak of.

Not exactly. Judge not lest you be judged, by the measure in which you judge so will you be judged.

Don't say it, if you don't live it.

But the real judgment to be worried about is not the judgment of other people. Cause I could care less what anyone thinks about me. But the Day of Wrath to come.

Here's why.

Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.

But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.

If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.

The Good Person Test.

How will you do? Pass or fail?

Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?

Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?

Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?

Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?

See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?

If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.

Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.

The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.

Well, the word does tell us that we shall judge the angels.
1 Corinthians 6:3
Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
So, we must judge between right and wrong while here on the earth.
The word tell us not to judge...meaning.not to place eternal judgement on another. That is correct because only God knows the heart of man.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
We should walk in love toward others..always keeping a firm eye on ourselves!

You REALLY need an attitude adjustment friend....quit blaming the Christians who are standing up for truth....

Jesus confronted the sins of the Pharisees head on....get over it....and get the joy of Jesus back in your heart....

Remeber .. "satan id the accuser of the brethren".

"PREACH THE WORD, in season and out...reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and doctrine; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear...." (2Tim.4:2)

Why are you suprised? It's no more hostile here than any other open internet forum I've seen on the subject of religion. Or any other subject, for that matter.
