There are many possible causes. If you have the pain for a while you might want your doctor or a gastroenterologist. It depends on where on your right side, too. It could be something as simple as a cramp, or a pulled muslce, or something else like gas, or even appendicitis. Your appendix is located in your lower right side of your abdomin, and it should be sharp, jabbing pains also accompanied by loss of apetite, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, or no change of bowel habits. People with appendicitis usually don't have typical symptoms. A problem similar to appendicitis is gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis means inflammation of the stomach and small and large intestines. Viral gastroenteritis is an infection caused by a variety of viruses that results in vomiting or diarrhea or both. It is often called the "stomach flu," although it is not caused by the influenza viruses. My third site is your best bet. It is a diagram of the body that can help you pinpoint where the pain is and what could be causing it. Hope you feel better!

It could just be gastritis, but if it persists you need to ask yourself an important question: Where exactly is the pain? Is it high, like right below your rib cage? That could be an ulcer or gallstones, so you'd need to see a doctor. If it's lower, like near your right hip, that could be appendicitis, and that's a SERIOUS problem -- if the pain is low, persistent, and accompanied by a fever then go to the emergency room IMMEDIATELY!!!

Your esophagus empties into your stomach on the right side. Perhaps you have an ulcer.

Maybe your appendix. Just checked my hubbys scar to see if its on the right or left and I can only just see it, definitely on the right. You will know its appendix as it will only get worse.

right side of the belly is the appendix..maybe its that..or a kidney...look for what triggers it, what makes it worse, and what makes it better..the answers to these can really help your healthcare provider in diagnosing whatever it is.
