Labgrrrl,
"Even the Devil can quote Scripture"
The devil misquotes the scripture.
See Mat 4v5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
The real scripture says this:
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
TO KEEP THEE IN ALL THY WAYS..
Why did the devil leave that out?
Because he wanted to snare Christ.

Demons are not eligible for any of the promises in the Bible. There destination has already been decided.
Besides a human might accept the Truth of the scriptures and be Saved.
John 5:39 - Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Acts 18:28 - For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Romans 16:26 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
1 Corinthians 15:3 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:4 - And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
2 Timothy 3:15 - And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 8:28-34 The Gergesene demoniacs (Gaderenes)
Mark 5:1-4, Luke 8:26-33
And they arrived at the country of the Gadarene, which is over against Galilee. And when He went forth to land, there met Him out of the city a certain man, which had devils (demons) a long time and wore no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What hae I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. (For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him; and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he broke the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) And Jesus asked him, saying, "What is thy name?" And he said, Legion; because many devils were entered into him. And they besought Jesus that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
Demons hate the scriptures because they are the Word of God and they are the truth and when a Christian speaks the Word of God to a demon possessed person that demon must obey God's word which is spoken by that person.
Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord even the devils (demons) are subject unto us through thy name.
Verse 19 & 20 "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; rather rejoice beause your names are written in heaven.

For those who say that demons to not exist, I must counter that demons were cast out of people by Jesus in the New Testament.
When someone else tried to cast out demons, the demon said to him, "I now who JESUS is, but who are you?
They hate the scriptures because it reminds them of their future.

Because if 'man' believes the scriptures; then man does not believe the demons, but God presently.

Why do Christians engage in the practice of desidaimonia, which is forbidden by the Apostle Paul on the grounds that demons do not exist?

Sneaky little veloci-satan trying that on - boom, Jesus took him out. I know they are supposed to hate the name of Jesus and mention of the blood (Jesus'), having read accounts of Smith Wigglesworth casting them out.

That view is against the view of the Bible and Christian tradition.
Not that I believe either of them, but if you're going to call yourself a Christian, as I assume you do, you better learn some Christianity.
