I am flying in to La Guardia airport, NY and need to get to W32nd St in Manhattan. I arrive at 8.30pm, should I just get a taxi and for what cost, or is there another simple and cheap option?

At that time of night, a taxi is a pretty good option. There shouldn't be much traffic and the trip to West 32nd should take about a half hour.

I would say the cost would be about $30 including tolls & tip.

The other option would be to take the bus service which would drop you off at Penn Station, which is on West 34th Street. From there you can get a taxi, or just walk depending on where your final destination is. The bus is $10 one way.

8:30 PM .... 9 by the time you get your bags. Taxi is probably the wisest choice. As the other poster said, think $30-$35.

I don't know about $45 ... it's a $45 flat fee from JFK ... but LGA is much closer ... I'm still going with $30-$35.

Not safe to be on 125th st if you are not familiar with NYC.

cab will cost you 45 dollars. If you want a cheap way to get to w32nd street, you will need a metrocard. Take the m60 bus to west 125th street and 7th avenue. Get off the bus and transfer to the downtown 1,2,3 train and take it to 34th street and penn station. w 32nd street is 2 blocks away. It will cost you only $2 with a metrocard ($4 dollars without; you cannot use a bus transfer to transfer to the train).
