I've read both. Which is? (English is not my native language)

Both are correct and both are used in British and American English, but mind that 'poop' has more than one meaning.

poo can also be spelled as pooh

poop can carry one of the following meanings, other than excrement (poo means excrement):

- a stupid or boring person
- somebody who lessens other people's mood
- a superstructure at the stern of a vessel

as verb poo and poop mean 'to defecate'

Why should one of them be wrong? In my experience, poo is much more common in the UK, while poop is much more common in the US.
