I have blondish brown thin, naturally straight hair about 5 inches past shoulder length. I never straighten or curl it. I never use any kind of hot iron on it. I wash it everyday, and I brush it a lot. But it seems to be "fried". Even after I get haircuts (sometimes like 5-6 inches off) it still stays like that. Does anyone know why it's like that, or anyway I can fix it? Thanks =)

How many times have you dyed your hair? Have you every bleached it for whatever reason? Try washing your hair everyother day.

Try not to blow dry it every day, and if you do, don't blow it completely dry. Allow it to dry natural. If you use product get a clarifying shampoo and a light conditioner. Use the clarifying shampoo no more than once a week, and get a light shampoo for the other days. You can use the light conditioner every time you wash. But as said before, don't wash it every day. Fine hair looks oily quicker than other types, but if you don't run your hands thru it much, it will not get oily as quick and if you don't use many products and get the clarifying shampoo and use it , you should be able to get away with washing it only every other day. All of these should help. I have attached a link at the bottom to help you decide what type of shampoo is good for you. Dept. store, and grocery store shampoos are very alkaline and some are acid based. It may say PH balanced, but it is not regulated. The reason that salon brands are more expensive is because they are balanced to the hair type, and that takes more technology to develop. Get redken, or matrix brands, I love them. You can find them on sale after most major holidays in cost cutters, regis and other like salons. Usually in gift kits too, so you can try a variety.

.. do you tan ? .. or do you stay in the sun too much.. such as playing any sports ?
dont brush your hair so much.. i haven't brushed my hair in years.. heh... but i have long curly hair. so i can get away with it.. i'm not sure if you can do it with straight hair. My hair always had split ends .. always.. until i stoped brushing it.. i run my fingers through my hair in the shower when i have the conditioner in. If you wear your hair back alot.. in a poiny tail ect.. try to stop brushing your hair .. except for the top of your head if needed to get rid of bumps. for wearing your hair down .. trying using a little hair moose to smooth your hair between the palms of your hands.. if you cant get away with that.. then use a brush.
try not washing your hair soo much. try everyother day.. i only wash mine 3 - 4 times a week. if you haven't .. also try either Herbal Essence Shampoo & a separate conditioner .. (dont use the 2 mixed in the same bottle) or try Garnier Fructis shampoo and condition... those are the best conditioners i find .. well..store bought for a good price.
this is how i style my hair.. and my hair has never looked so good =)
try it for a week and tell me how it turned out
if none of that works..try those more expensive hot oils you get at the hair dresser.

Use a conditioner everytime you wash your hair... and rinse with cooler water than you've washed with. Don't brush your hair too often during the day if it's not necessary, as the constant brushing can also strip away essential oils.
A hot oil treatment every two weeks does wonders, as well.
If these tips don't help, consider your diet and your surrounding climate, too. Are you drinking enough water? Is there enough protein in your (balanced) diet?
If there are still concerns, or you see dryness in your scalp,a s well, you may want to see a dermatologist.

Dont wash your hair every single day. It dries it out. Every other day is fine.
Get a good moisturizing conditioner and try a deep conditioner once or twice a week. Make sure you leave the deep conditioner on for at least 20 minutes.
Try talking to your hair dresser the next time you go in to see what she says. If you go to her regularly she should know your hair pretty well by now.

it seems you are lacking moisture in the hair. blonde hair always appears to be dull looking becuae light reflects off the hair. that is why the darker the hair the shinnier it appears. i would reccomend using biolages hydrotherapie shapoo and conditioner and use the deep contditioning treatment once a week until you acieve the look you want then use it at least once a month for maintenace.

try not washing it every day i know its hard cuz it gets tangeled and greasy and stuff but washing it takes the nutrients out of your hair that it needs you can still get it wet in the shower and stuff but just try washing it every other day. my hair is the same way
