Or are we saying we don't buy spontaneous life, directed by nothing but chance? Do we disagree with science showing that things adapt and change to their environment (even cellularly) or do we disagree with the fact that trillions of years ago, a couple cells crawled out of a pile of matter and started adapting to their environment until now, when we're humans and animals and plants etc. Where did the matter come from?

We don't know that the earth is only six thousand years old. Geneologies skip generations all the time. Keep an open mind. This is a question about how we Christians put forth our disagreements with evolutionary theory.

Most of these answers are awesome! Keep 'em coming! More than anything, I am reacting to the evolutionist claim that Christians don't think that anything adapts and changes. Of course it does! And those changes are orchestrated by God!

That is a question that requires study and introspection.
Science is a beautiful thing, and it is correct about many things... things do adapt and evolve and change over time, it is a proven fact... they adapt to fit the needs of their regions...
I am a Christian, but I do not say that evolution does not occur... that's just stupidity.
God created evolution. Science is uncovering the workings of God. When you read Genesis 100% literally, it seems like things just popped into existence with the snap of a finger, but, it doesn't explicitly say that God didn't evolve the animals... it just chooses not to tell you how he did it.
I hope that gives you a different perspective. The fact is, nobody actually knows, and those who presume that they do are following science with as much, or more FAITH than you have in God, so they cannot attack your faith.

Nobody should think things do not evolve, we can see things evolving all the time. It's the evolution from one species to another that Christians have a problem with, and which science only offers a theory concerning because it doesn't factor in a creative God. We believe in micro evolution (eg, beaks on birds develop differently in different places) but not macro evolution (eg, whales evolving into cows). Good Christians disagree on the time frame of Genesis, whether it was literally one week, or one week of revelation to Moses who wrote it down (there are other views). But even if the length of time in the universe is billions of years as observed by science, that alone cannot account for the kinds of changes Darwinian evolutionists theorize. We were made in God's image the Bible says, and when Christ stepped out of heaven, He wasn't from the Planet Of The Apes.

most church's say that evolution is not real or that it is only for small things, such as environment changes or micro evolution. most Christians take the bible as the truth to how the world came into being as written in Genesis. this means that they are not allowed to believe in evolution. christian church's a long time ago used to say that the earth is the center of the universe and that the sun orbit around it. then there came a man (Galileo) who proved this all wrong. it was not till years and years afterward that his theory was accepted. so eventually the world will come to accept the ideas of Darwin and eventually all religious books will be filed in the mythology section of the library along with the former dominate religions of the world that the ancient Romans and Greek embraced!

This is one of those times when lumping all "christians" into one bunch just doesn't work. You'll find all sorts of "christian" beliefs, opinions, and attitudes towards evolution.
Some claim that, as you said, nothing ever evolves. Some claim that there is such a thing as "micro" evolution but no "macro" evolution (by the way, those aren't scientific terms, they're christian terms). Some claim evolution has pretty much worked as science describes, but the first "spark" of life was created by god. And there are lots of other christian beliefs on the subject that are combinations of those above, or completely different.
What do all of the above beliefs have in common? None of them are supported by any evidence. That nothing ever evolves is quite easily proven wrong (go visit any hospital and ask them about drug-resistant infections). That there's "micro" but not "macro" evolution is demonstrably, provably wrong (the only difference between the two is TIME). That "god" made the first spark of life isn't (currently) demonstrably, provably wrong -- but there is no evidence of any kind to show that it's *right,* either...so it's entirely a belief, not supported by evidence of any kind.
That evolution by natural selection is the mechanism by which all life on this planet has arisen is supported by an overwhelming mountain of evidence. That weight of evidence, and no evidence against it, shows that it is correct. Are there specific areas in our understanding of evolution that we don't have answers to yet? Of course -- that doesn't invalidate all the other confirming evidence, it just means there's more study to do to learn more. And not knowing how a particular species came about, or a particular organ, just means we don't know...it doesn't mean "god did it." There's no evidence to show "god did it," so positing that cause is not supportable.
I find large numbers of christians who are completely ignorant of evolution. That's not surprising given that many churches teach their people that it's evil, wrong, or the "devil's work." But fearing knowledge never got anyone anywhere...and it's impossible to be reasonably opposed to something you are ignorant about, making the vast majority of christian arguments against evolution completely unreasonable and ignorant. There are exceptions, of course -- the christians who have studied evolution usually fall into the "god made the first spark of life" camp. And they understand that they're making that statement as a simple matter of faith, without evidence to support it. *Those* christians, at least, are intellectually honest. The rest are not.
Peace.

Well the Theory of Evolution and the Big Bang Theory are two separate theories. Also most believers believe in Micro Evolution (Survival of the fittest/ adaptation) but do not believe in Macro Evolution (which is micro evolution but on a much larger scale). The Theory of Evolution does not attempt to prove where all matter came from, it only attempts to prove how we got where we are today.

Man has always said that things adapt and change with the environment. This fact has not changed. It is when man came along and said we came from millions and billions of years of developing a couple of cells that kept changing and changing until they became a monkey then a man. This is the evolutionist thought which they tried to enforce with lies which I totally disagree. God is life and from Him came life and that life reproduces after its kind.

I believe that there is the small scale evolution that Darwin observed with the turtles. Survival of the fittest makes total sense. But... negating God and trying to come up with some other explanation for the origin of species is ridiculous and requires way more faith than believing that God set it all in motion. There is far less proof and logic for that theory.

lack of understanding that they are deriding their own faith! technological know-how explains the large bang replaced into not from not something yet from a singularity that replaced into each and all the subject and potential interior the universe compressed right into a single element that then prolonged at as quickly as! So in answer on your question it replaced into continuously right here! yet why are undesirable christians continuously claiming the large bang got here from not something? Are they that ignorant? Did they sleep by using college or is it that they be responsive to the reality yet think of they are able to curl it simply by fact each and every physique is gullible?! it somewhat is christians that can not clarify the place their god is meant to have have been given not something from how he's meant to have then produced each and every thing from not something!

Actually there is a gene that gives animals the ability to adapt to their environment; it's called the Distal-less gene. Where did this gene come from? It could not have originated by accident.
