Be confident. Just do it! You shouldn't be embarrassed to show him how you feel. :)

Well you may want to take a different tactic with a man than a boy, as they tend to have different maturity levels, interests, and hang out in different places (most of the time).

For either, suggesting you get together for an appropriate beverage (depending on your ages) is typically a good way to go.

As for being embarrassed, that's a risk anyone takes when they ask a question or put themselves in the face of potential rejection. You just have to hope that won't occur and if it does, be mature about it and move on.

Well for a girl it isnt good for her to ask a guy out so the guy should be the gentlemen and ask her out !:D
The guy should say something like would u be my girl?or anything else that comes through his mind! anyways the guy should run into the girl! a girl shouldnt beg a guy that would make her look pathetic so let the guy do everything!

Probably the easiest way would be to come up with an event. Don't make the date the event (dinner, drinks..etc). Make it a live band at a lounge/bar or something along those lines, Mention it and see if he wants to go.

Just ask. What's the worst that could happen? He might let you down gently. Or he might just say yes. Either way, knowing the answer is much better than not knowing.

The best way is not to ask him but to make him ask u because guys like things they have to chase and if u come to him then he won't really want u for to long if u really like him then make him like u just rember boys/men are weak towards girls especially if the gurl is confident

just casually bring it up in a conversation
like hey we should hang out sometime
a good way is if you get to talking about movies n there's one u know u both want to see, invite him
it might seem a little nerve racking but if u dont make it a big deal it wont be, so just talk to him the way u'd talk to one of your friends

Think the boy will be more scared then you are as

He aint gonner treat you like some perve only iterested in sex or only wanting to be mates to touch you up.

He cant accuse you of harrasment or treat you like a joke.

Try and find a horror finl and say you need somone to cuddle you if you get scared.

or get touchy with him a lot like tickling and stuff and get used to each other that way till one ends up on the floor and the other can kiss them.

Or bet a kiss on something and loose.

Ask him to hold your ice cream lolly as you suck it then ask him

Be honest and open. Don't worry about being embarrassed. Even if he's not interested, he should be flattered. And if he is interested, it's on! Good luck!
