well it all matters if it's hurting her then she needs it but if she is not hurting then she does't but you want to wash it out every week to make sure there is no infection in it

That happened to one of my dogs. One day he came in with a nipped paw pad, but, i thought nothing of it. After a few days I noticed it became infected and eventually the whole pad fell off. I took him to the vet. They usually don't sew the pad because it is at an unusual place. The doctor gave my dog antibiotics to fight the infection. I also had to soak his entire foot in diluted Betadine Solution. Dilute it until it looks like weak tea. Do this for about 5 mins each day. Make sure you dab dry.

She will probably be fine but you might try the dog booties that are available at pet stores for walking over rough ground or snowy or icy places just to protect that foot.

Well they do. It helps protect their paws from getting cut open and stuff. I am sure though that if you keep your dog from going on rocks or sharp things your dog will be fine.
