Scientific Errors

(2) No insects (including grasshoppers) are 4-legged.
Leviticus 11:20-22
All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you. There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground. Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper.
(3) This is only possible on a flat earth.

Again the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

If you ask a question about what do Christians believe, it is right that we use a scripture reference as a proof of our answer. We are taught to refer to scripture for our answers and for truth. No, I don't go around talking in scripture, but I do use it to back up my answers when I feel it is helpful to the asker.
Anybody can say that the Bible says whatever they want, but without a reference for someone to look it up, the answer isn't as strong. They teach in church to check the Bible to make sure that your preacher isn't deceiving you. People are notorious for manipulating scripture, so referencing the specific passage helps people to know where you're getting your info and where to look at it for themselves to study the context. When you write any kind of research paper, you give a bibliography, it's the same idea.

They are showing off their memorization skills.
I am a Christian and I dont need to memorize the bible because I own one. I can look up anything I like at any time.
I try to solve problems with common sense using my Christian background as a base not the only answer. I was born a non-believer and so I dont think other non-believers what to be preached to. Why not help them in everyday terms using your Love of God as the reason you want to help. Works for me.

Part of the 'problem' with 'Christians' quoting the Bible is few 'Christians' have separated scriptures and non-scriptures.
As a result; they have 'wrongly divided' the word of truth. (contrary to 2 Tim. 2:15), and caused division in 'Christianity' presently in this country. On behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ; please accept my apology if their actions offend you presently or the recent past in that manner.

I don't think that's an accurate portrayal. Most Christians here seem to know diddly about their own holy books...if they quote it, they only quote what someone else quoted.

It's how Jesus defended himself when tested by the devil.
MAT 4V
4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

So we are allowed to quote any other source as an answer, but not the Bible?Or are you too lazy to look it up?

Yup. Instead of using their brains to really think of original answers, they continually quote from their "holy" book.
I used to be one. Glad I learned to think.
