Check your local noise ordinance. If you have a local ordinance that says, no loud noises after _p.m. and the dog is constantly barking after that, you can complain to the police and they in-turn, will notify Animal Control. They will give a warning to the owner. If it happens again and you report it again, they will most likely pick up the dog and adopt it out.

First off---anyone that allows the poor animal to bark continually doesnt deserve to have the animal--I have two neighbors that leave their dog out all the time==one has a pen in his backyard hat the dog is kept in--this dog never sees the inside of the house-cold=rain snow==heat==then to top it off they allow this dog to bark continually- I have tried to contact the cruelty to animals but cant find them==but ill keep trying --other dog is alittle one has the most annoying bark-this one also left out during day and barks all the time===I just read where a town in Jersey Clifton - or Paterson is passing an ordanance that if dog barks more then one hour owners will be fined==
another alternative is to sign a complaint against these people and have them go to court==but then they will know its you--but who cares if they know==I have done this and it brought great results

If you can get a look, see if the dog is chained in the yard all day. If yes, then call the police and complain about the noise and that the dog is being abused.

In the meantime, definitely throw the dog something to chew on. Even a knotted up tube sock will keep him busy for awhile.

Why can't you just confront them? It is best to confront them and the dog and try to keep peace. You do NOT want TOXIC neighbors (trust me I have one). YOU should handle the dog yourself! But dogs bark out of duty or fear. You could calm the dog and make it feel safe from your end by throwing some nibbles to the dog everytime you go out back for a few weeks. Then the dog would get the message that the environment from your end is safe. You can also make friends with the owner, bring the dog to your side so he can see what is behind him. Why can't you take some friendly measures to solve the problem before you have to lean on "the law"? Don't be such a Sissy.

Yes there is. Call the police. Most Cities and Townships have laws or ordinances regarding noise. This is to include barking dogs and music. Check with your local counsel and they will be able to tell you. I say call the police because they will write a citation/ticket and they also can tell you the law that it is under.

If you're in the city...most cities have noise ordinances. A call to the local animal control (who is supposed to come out and check it out) is the next best option in my opinion. You don't exactly want to give yourself a bad rep or set yourself up for problems with that person just because of such a thing.

If you live in the city there is. Call the police and tell them that it is keeping you up all night and you want something done about it. The will give the pet owner a warning if it still keeps up, call back and they will give them a ticket after that they will remove the dog.

Check your city ordinance book under the Nuisance section. If no set quiet hours are specified for barking dogs call the police dept. and complain. Also contact animal control. If the dogs are barking for no apparent reason it may be considered neglect.

I wouldn't bother confrounting them because that could
lead to other problems. I would call the police, and or the
humane society. It should be reported. No one likes to
have a neighbour whose dog barks alot. The owners
should have more respect for others.
