Nope. I'd call some people wing-less rats, although that's offensive to rats.
The argument that pigeons carry disease is flawed because so do human beings and they're much easier to pass on than a disease from a pigeon. How many people have been infected with HIV from a pigeon? Has a smoking pigeon ever given a human being lung cancer? Pigeons don't drink and drive either. Or carry guns. Or sell drugs.
Human beings are far more dangerous to humans than pigeons are. Or indeed any other animal.

Rock Pigeon aka
Rock Dove aka
Columba livia aka
Flying Rats

They are SO numerous their excrement is known to rot stone, paint, tile, glass, wood, all metals, and anything else it comes in contact with.
They are native to the Old World but were brought to the Americas in the 1600s -- probably raised for food. They're still spreading to all parts of the world.
They push out native bird species with aggressive competition for food and nesting areas.
The argument that they spread disease has not been proven. But they are extremely undesirable birds.

BTW, all this also goes for the Starling and the House Sparrow and ANY feral cage birds.

Most people do. Street pigeons are called so. Homing pigeons are not. They are clean and cared for, injected twice yearly against alsorts of things.

No, but I know people who do.

Bear in mind that a domesticated racing pigeon is a whole other kettle of fish. They can go for thousands of pounds.

When they foul the streets up - yes. Some pigeons are kept as pets and tend to be well fed, clean and so on. The other pigeons are filthy and can carry a lot of diseases -hence the name flying rats.

I call them dinner! Not a lot of meat on a pigeon but enough to make a pie if you use a few.
