My current diet is for my heart and involves no meat and is very heavy on veggies, unrefined oats, and fruits. However, no matter I am eating all day long, I seem to suddenly have a bottomless stomach and am ALWAYS hungry. Does anyone have a clue as to what to do, short of asking my doctor about appetite suppressants? I've tried tea, I already drink a lot of water every day, nothing seems to work to tamp down that feeling.

You seem to be thinking about food a lot, and the thought of food can make you hungry, trust me I know. Being on a diet when you're used to eating whatever you want can have this effect on anyone. Try to find something that will keep you occupied during the day or night so that you aren't thinking about food as much. Also, keep up the water drinking, it's great for suppressing "real" hunger pangs and it's fantastic for the skin too of course :) Good luck!!

Don't worry. Eating the foods you are eating are great. Just add chicken or turkey to the mix. Eggs are great too. If you have an egg with breakfast, it makes your body feel full.
Protein is key. Check out soys and different proteins other than meats. Knowledge is power!!

Because you're not eating any protein, and probably almost no healthy fats.
If you don't eat meat, try garbanzo beans, Kidney beans, Lentils, Lima beans, Navy beans, Soybeans, Split peas, Barley, Brown rice, Buckwheat, Millet, Oatmeal, Rye, Wheat germ, Wheat, hard red, Wild rice, Almonds, Cashews, Filberts, Hemp Seeds, Peanuts, Pumpkin seeds, Sesame seeds, Sunflower seeds, Walnuts (black) and Soy products

You're craving the fats and sugars that your heartsmart diet lacks. In time, you'll adjust to it. Just keep on telling yourself that you are going to benefit from being good to yourself for a long, long time!

A diet with no protein is the reason why you are always hungry. Shouldn't it be fine if you eat lean meats like chicken breast?
