my dad calls my mom 'honey' and my mom calls me dad 'bear'.. which is kind of cute.
You don't need to find a pet name right away..just think of a good date you had and what you did on that date and them maybe it will give you ideas..
don't pick a name just becuase someone suggested it to you- it has to have special meaning behind it..

first of all dont ask for help on it. it'll come to you. i call my boyfriend watermelon head lol affectionately of course. but one day i just called him that and now i do it all the time and we laugh. it just has to be something that happens.

I think pet names just happen.
My husband calls me love bug. I don't know why, it's just sounded cute and endearing to him, and it stuck!
