DEPENDS WHERE YOU DO YOU LIVE?
Search age of consent on Wikipedia and reference where you live. Also check age disparity laws. Generally speaking it is illegal to date an 14 yr old, but if your disparity law is 4 years or greater you are in the clear.
Generally speaking if her parents know how old you are and are okay with it you are good. The second they tell you no sex or you lie about your age. You become somebody's girlfriend. And guys with rape charges against minors have a way of not living a real long time inside prison (so I hear).
Seriously "your friend" should be really careful here. This is a serious one. And if he is 18 he is about to go to college which is the most and the best *** any man will have in his lifetime.
GOD 14 so young. And you tell by the tenor that they are doing it.

Yes it is against the law at 18
or when he was 17
.
The law protects the young , against under age sex
A 13/ 14 year old girl is still a minor ( child)
in the eyes of the law

My cousin is doing this now...she's 14 and he's 18...as long as the parents are okay about the whole situation...it is against the law though if the 18 yr old, tries to get the 14 year old to sleep with him and the 14 yr old doesn't want to...it's considered rape...just like any other couple...

It's not against the law for them to be together, but it is against the law for them to have sex. I believe the legal age of consent in the UK is 16. If they are having sex then he could be up for soliciting a minor or something like that.
Anyway, what kind of 18 year old guy goes out with a 14 year old? It's not exactly cradle snatching but it's not far off. The age gap isn't the problem, her young age is.

No. But you may not sleep together because one of you is still underaged. That is against the law in most countries. Wait till you are 16, or maybe even 18, or better still until you are over 21 or married.

Yes it's against the law, unless they are just friends( I'm not really a moron). Even with partental consent the 18 year old can get into trouble. The police could press their own charges. Haven't we learned anything from Mary Kay whoever or the other people out there?

I don't actually think its illegal to be together, but it is against the law for you to have any sexual contact with him. I think it's wrong for him to be with you if he's 18 even if he was only 17 when you met as the it's still illegal at for you as you are under the age of consent. If he thinks anything of you and your relationship he will wait till your 16 after all, if he loves you you he'll think you are worth the wait and like the saying goes, "good things come to those who wait". Don't do anything you'll end up regretting.

It is not illegal for a 17/18 year old to be with a 14 year old as long as no sexual contact is happening. If sexual contact is happening, then yessssssssss it is against the law.
